Friday Fun :)

Hey Everyone! Happy Friday! We've been having a great time so far in New York! Today we were offically on our own, since Deb and Shelly headed back to MN. We were very sad to see them go, but also kind of excited to fully be on our own. Our commute went alot better today, and I think we are getting better and better at navigating the subway system, and coordinating that with the ferry schedule, walking distance, and the shuttle service as well. Today we didn't have school because of parent-teacher conferences. So instead we had a meeting scheduled with the school's chancellor and also a tour of the school as well. Before our meeting, we had some down time, so one of the things Heidi really wanted to do was go to the Today Show, it's one of her favorites! So we took the subway to Rockefeller Center, and stayed to watch some of the show. During the show we even were on TV! (Maybe some of you saw us :), I know my mom did and it was pretty cool!  We also got to shake Ann Curry's hand, and Heidi even got a picture with her!

 she was grinning and so happy the rest of the day!

After the Today Show, we headed back towards the school, and since Central Park is right by our school we walked around a bit in there. It is such a pretty area and I know we will be heading back there again soon! After our meeting and tour, we headed to find lunch. One of the ladies at Dwight suggested a place called Saigon Grill (its a vitamese restraurant). It was delicious! We all had something different, here's a picture of what Megan had. The portion sizes were huge, so we ended up bringing up left overs (so glad there's a microwave in our room!).

 

After lunch, we headed to Times Square to walk around and check out some of the stores around there. We went to the M&M Store and it was so cool! They had M&M's in Gustie Colors!

After Times Square, we walked around the Financial District. It was really cool to walk through and see the buildings. Here are some pictures:

After walking through the financial district, we headed back to our hotel to relax a bit since we've had a busy week/ last couple days. We are very excited for this weekend (we hear there is snow coming but we dont want to believe it! haha) and I'm sure we will find more exciting/ interesting things to see, and fun things to do!
